Six activists from the group calling itself Daat Emet, made up of apostates and affiliated with the Shinui political party, broke into the K'far Chabad building of the Tomchei Temimim yeshiva on Sunday afternoon, bringing with them propaganda which belittled the Torah and mocked the words of Chazal and the Torah greats. They attempted to create a provocation.
Yeshiva students, who found it difficult to swallow the deliberately provocative acts of this group, threw them out of the yeshiva building and pushed them towards their car.
Members of the Daat Emet organization, which works in cooperation with and the encouragement of the Shinui political party, have been visiting Charedi neighborhoods and yeshivot throughout the country over the past few months in order to distribute informational leaflets containing materials belittling to and mocking of the Torah and its scholars. Their visit to K'far Chabad was the second within ten days.
The first time they came their visit went off quietly. Even though members of the organization infiltrated the yeshiva building with no permission and even entered the students' dormitory rooms, the yeshiva's students refrained from altercations.
This week, after they again entered the yeshiva building, it was clear to all that their goal was to provoke and antagonize the yeshiva students. Students ejected them from the building and pushed them towards their car.
Chabad spokesman Menachem Brod reacted strongly to these provocative acts: "Members of this group committed a criminal act by breaking in to the yeshiva building, and it is the students' right to remove them from the premises. These activists come with only one goal in mind -- to provoke and cause riots so they can feed the flames of anti-religious hatred, which is the only justification for their existence. It would be appropriate for the Israeli public at large to declare the actions ofs Shinui members, who sow baseless hatred for Charedi Jews and who earn their bread by inflaming dark passions, beyond the limits of all acceptability."
