Towards the end of last week there was an intensification of the despicable distribution methods of the apostatical leaflets which bear the false name "True Knowledge." Messengers of the apostatical cult which writes and distributes the leaflets broke through the windows into a Givat Rokeach, Bnei Brak yeshiva for youth in the dead of night last Thursday to distribute their leaflets every possible place in the building: in the study hall, the dining hall, the classrooms, even inside the gemarahs. The yeshiva heads and the students were horrified on Friday morning to find the repulsive abomination in their holy yeshiva and within the holy books, and they hurried to collect them and destroy them, in keeping with the commandment, "and you shall burn the evil from your midst."
For some time this apostatical cult has aimed to distribute in print poisonous words of deception against our holy Torah, Oral and Written, with the intent to turn Jews away from the path of Torah and faith, G-d forbid, and to plant within them apostasy and doubt, G-d forbid, about the words of Chazal and verses of the holy Torah. The two who head this cult are known rebels from the north of the country, who changed and withdrew, rebelled against the yoke of Torah and Judaism, and became enemies and persecutors of Judaism and the Torah, as has been the way of apostates in all generations.
From a thorough investigation it appears that the apostates adopted a very simple technique: copying known research questions by the best sages from their holy books, which deal with Torah issues connected to various natural sciences. The apostates copy the questions only, without revealing, of course, that alongside the questions are found full and absolute answers which prove with no doubt the amazing exactitude of the Tanach verses and the words of ancient Chazal with the most modern science.
With this ruse the apostates try to perplex the general religious public and the returnees to religion as to the truth of Torah from the Heavens. As a low addition to the trick, an arrogant warning appears on the leaflets: "Please safeguard the sanctity of this pamphlet"...
One can learn about the evil plan of the leaflets' distributors from the fact that they place a special emphasis on young yeshiva students and on returnees to religion. Yeshiva students in various locations throughout the country have recently complained that the leaflets reach them through the mail, addressed to them within the holy yeshivot, and during vacation the leaflets continued to arrive at their personal addresses, their parents' homes.
Besides this, the cult of apostates widely disseminates the leaflets in synagogues and various public places throughout the country, and distributes them through the mail while choosing, from time to time, different religious and charedi areas and flooding them with leaflets. The leaflets arrive in the mail, enclosed in sealed and addressed envelopes bearing full names and addresses of the recipients. And also via fax, again with full names and addresses of the fax owner. The plan is to make a personal connection with the readers to draw him into the trap of "debate" -- the historic method of converters -- and to that end there even appears in the leaflet an address for correspondence.
The great rabbis of Israel have already issued several warnings against this grave phenomenon and forbade looking at the leaflets, not even a hasty glance. It is excessive to mention that correspondence with the apostates, even to protest, is absolutely forbidden. One who encounters such a leaflet in any form must, according to halacha, destroy it immediately, and to collect such leaflets when found distributed in public places, in study halls, mikvahs, etc., and destroy them.
These days, efforts are being made to expose the anti-Jewish agents who channel vast sums to fund the activities of the dangerous cult of apostates. The investigations are proceeding on two tracks: Christian missionaries on one hand and left-wing organizations and/or Reform on the other hand. At the same time legal and judicial methods to act against them are being explored.
